I loved this! I got my Jim angst as well as my happy ending. It's really a thrill to see my name on the post and think that this is for me. Yay! I liked your take on who and how they adopted too. I'm glad that you didn't villianize Bones because if this exchange had been on the Kirk/McCoy comm I would have simply switched the Spock and McCoy roles. I hate having to choose one pairing over another since I could totally see it going either way. I asked for the kid because I totally see nu!Kirk as eventually wanting that sense of family that he didn't get as a kid. So thank you for reading my mind.
